§Labor Day Weekend (Saturday) at the USA PRO CYCLING Time Trial Championships

§Location:  TBD

§Cross the finish line that the professional riders will cross as they complete the time trial course.

§Afterwards, participants watch the best cyclists in the United States compete for the Stars and Stripes Time Trial Jersey.

§One entry fee – includes t-shirt

CYCLING EVENT

§Held Sunday immediately before the US PRO Championship Road Race

§Unique fundraising concept provides incentives for participants based on fundraising efforts.

§Provides a unique ride atmosphere held in conjunction with the USA PRO CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS, Labor Day Weekend in Greenville, SC.

§Event participants become a part of the weekend long events that include nearly 50,000 spectators

§Allows participants the opportunity to challenge the race course that professional cyclists Levi Leipheimer, George Hincapie, Bobby Julich and David Zabriskie will ride later in the day.

§The Stars and Stripes Challenge is a recreational Ride – Not a race.

“P3C3” CHALLENGE TO CONQUER CANCER

FROM THE HILLS OF HINCAPIE TO THE LAND OF LANCE

OCTOBER 2008

§Cross Country Relay Cycling Ride from Greenville, SC to Austin, TX.

§Ride will end at the LiveSTRONG Challenge “Ride for the Roses”,  the signature event of The Lance Armstrong Foundation.

§To honor and memorialize cancer survivors and cancer patients currently fighting the battle.

§Each team will ride for and in honor of a "Cancer Warrior“.  Warriors are individuals currently undergoing or have recently completed treatment for cancer.  It is our hope that the trip will bring a great sense of "normality" to their lives.  Cancer warriors will be flown to Austin to participate as much as he/she is able in the events of the LiveSTRONG Challenge.

§Designed to bring public awareness to the Oncology Research Institute and Cancer Research Unit of the Greenville Hospital System and Lance Armstrong Foundation.
